AUDIENCE/WHO IS IT FOR?
This multitool is for anyone that will be in a need of basic hand tools readily available and would like the best multi tool for the money. I was a Telecommunications Engineer and never left home without a pocket multitool.
These Pocket Multitools are popular with people who work with their hands, outdoors people and people who like to have a compact set of hand tools at the ready around the house.
This pocket multitool’s design was legendary when it was first introduced. I was the first tool I can remember that allowed the working blades to be deployed without having to open the tool. Even it could be considered the best multi tool for the money.
This tool allows 4 lockable blades to be deployed quickly, with one hand, without having to fully open the tool. There is a 4-inch straight edge blade, a 4-inch serrated edge blade, a large file and the trusted saw blade.
The stainless steel Leatherman Wave’s construction is almost indestructible. You will lose it or pass it down to grandchildren before needing to replace it. The tool houses:

The Leathermen Wave performed flawlessly. The blades and other external tools are deployed effortlessly. I love The Leatherman Waves design. Having this tools on my side is a pleasure.
The mix of tools is perfect for me. I use the pliers and wire cutters often. Even used the small eyeglasses screwdrivers more than I thought I would. I am happy it was there.
The Leatherman Waves construction is solid and never felt flimsy or like I would break it during heavy use. I hammered it often and put a lot of pressure on it when I used it for work. I have large hands and found the size somewhat small but it is probably perfect for the masses.
The Leatherman Wave’s warranty is outstanding. The 25-year limited warranty against everything is explained on the website. Don’t get too excited. The Leatherman Wave is built like a tank and the warranty mostly will not be needed.
PROS AND CONS/FOR AND AGAINST
The 25-year limited warranty is a big plus. It is a testament to the Leatherman Waves solid construction. The design is near perfect for general use. The locking blades are on the outside, easily accessible and deployable.
The few cons I may have with the Leatherman Wave are the nylon sheath should be abandoned and only be shipped with the leather sheath. Also, the removable bits become lose over time and begin to fall out when used.
Worst of all the cutting blades are not replaceable like some of the Leatherman Surge. This has always been a problem for me because I am always using it to cut something stupid. LOL.
The Leatherman Wave is a great tool for the price. I would not consider it an entry-level pocket multi-tools do to the quality materials, construction, large tools offering, and price.
The Leatherman Wave has all of the popular basic tools most users would need during the course of your day and then some. It is the best multi tool for the money.
